Shari & I have been working overtime on Minstrels this week, trying to get it wrapped up… and we are close. Very close. We got the final ebook cover and print cover flat from our wonderful illustrator,
, so we’re ready to go there. We did have a minor hiccup (all my problem) with page count, but we got that sorted, and I Know Things Now.The print book cover is… man. Let me tell you, I don’t want to put text on it. At all. It’s gorgeous. I may have to talk to Cedar about getting a print for my office.
Oh, you’re wondering about those names up there on the cover? That’s not all, folks. We’ve got a nice, solid dozen stories in this book from some amazing authors. Each one has turned out a wonderful tale inspired by the music of Jethro Tull. Here, let me give you a peek:
“Making a Ton” – M. C. Tuggle
“Inside” – Garrett Rowlan
“Locomotive Breath” –
“Tablet in the Air” –
“The Secret Language of Birds” – Robert Jeschonek
“The Glutton of Borgas Drift” – Tobias Youngblood
“Vive la Mouselution” – Andrew Heymann
“Path to Transformation” – Dana M. Evans
“Journeyman” – Lord Shinzō (aka
)“Full Steam Afterlife” – Seth Taylor
“Demons, Occasionally” – Grant M. Martin
“Pleasure in the Leaving” – Mark Silcox
The stories themselves are a little bit of everything, covering ground from space opera to planetary romance to alt-history to steampunk to game lit. Monsters! Aliens! Strange worlds! Daring escapes! Worlds frozen, divided, gritty and ethereal! We’ve got it all.
And when that’s done? There’s another one in the works! More on that later, though. For now—keep your eyes open, because you’re going to be able to get your hands on this volume sooner than you think.
I do enjoy reading your emails. I was wondering if you will be represented at the Buffalo NASFiC this year? I really hope you will be!
I'm looking forward to it.
