Lots of congratulations to spread around today!
Let’s start by calling out Robb Grindstaff and congratulating him for having his story “June Bug” named the top short fiction of the year by the Missouri Writers Guild! You can read the full story - and see why it was a winner - over on Robb’s Substack.
Next up: Three Ravens Publishing, who have a new anthology out and a cover reveal for a second this month.
First up is Thirteen Stories of Horror, edited by Nick Steverson and Marissa Wolf. I don’t know about you guys, but for a volume like this, I would be amazingly proud to me a member of #TeamAndMore. Those are some impressive names there on the cover - I’m looking forward to reading this one!
Three Ravens also gave us a cover reveal for It Came from the Trailer Park, Volume III, an anthology of redneck horror with an impressive lineup as well. Look for it to appear in the near future. I critiqued a few stories that didn’t get accepted for this anthology, and let me tell you - they were good. So I’m anticipating some really memorable tales from ICFTTPv3.
Finally, there’s Raconteur Press, with four - yes, four! - new anthology releases. (I told you, it’s been a while…) Going in order, we have…
Space Marines II is the second volume in one of the anthologies that started this all. If you like crunchy, corps-based MilSF, this one’s for you. Special congrats to Seth Taylor, one of the Alpha Mercs, for making the cover on this one!
Moggies In Space. Which is, as they say, exactly what it says on the label. Cats in space. I have heard that there was a lot of enthusiasm for this one, from both writers and readers, so expect Raconteur to continue their tradition of releasing second and third anthologies so long as there’s interesting stories to tell.
Your Honor, I Can Explain is the first volume in the long-anticipated Spurgle Chronicles. Also featuring an newly minted Alpha Merc in the shape of one David Bock!
What’s a Spurgle, you might ask? Well, Mr. Andrew Spurgle is a complete buffoon; an incompetent, all-around clown-shoe, and the cause of disaster, woe, and hilarious failure wherever he may go. Once you start thinking of him as an arrogant cosmic lightning rod for bad luck and even worse decisions, it all makes sense. Check out the first collection of stories and get your Spurgle on! (Yes, yes. I do feel dirty for saying that. Go read it anyways.)
Finally, we have Space Cowboys 3: Return of the Bookaroo, the next installment in the Space Cowboys series from Raconteur. Again, there’s a lot of good names in this one, including several returning authors from SC1 and SC2 with additional tales of characters that appeared in earlier volumes. Continuing a theme, we also have another appearance from the Alpha Mercs as A. Kristina Casasent jumps to #TeamAndMore emeritus member!
That’s it for today! Check out the new anthologies, and don’t forget to keep an eye on the anthology open call listing at #TeamAndMore to see what else is coming down the pipe!

Thanks for the shout-out, from one Robb to another!
Woo hoo! Go Alpha Mercs!
