My mid-week report to you that covers the three major commitments I’ve made: to write, to edit, and to read.
Things are a little different this week. Rather than making individual commitments, I’ve really got just one big one: prep for LibertyCon. I’ve got a checklist and a ton of things to do before we leave, so I’m going to focus on dotting those i’s and crossing those t’s.
Writing
Pinup Noir is coming soon! Raconteur Press will be releasing it on June 23rd on Amazon in Kindle and paperback. This coincides with the start of LibertyCon, which is… holy cow, just a little over a week away!
I am incredibly stoked to be included in this anthology. The table of contents is a slate of outstanding story tellers. I can't wait to dig into this one and see what they've come up with!

Editing
I’ve done a couple of critiques this week, and I’m really excited to see some of those stories make it into print. Seriously, folks - if you don’t have a solid writer’s group, find one! It’s amazing how a little bit of attention from a different set of eyes can improve your work.
Speaking of which - I’ve received confirmation that my editor is cranking through the first draft of Sigils. I am both excited and terrified to see where that goes.
I also have a friend who’s asked for some feedback on a non-fiction project. That’s going to be an interesting exercise for me. Let’s see how that goes.
Reading
Finished In the Palace of Shadow and Joy by D. J. Butler. Loved it! I need to bop over to Amazon and leave a review. I’ve also picked a bit at short stories from several collections - Misfits of Magic, Straight Outta Tombstone, and But Not Broken. I’m waiting on my copy of What Hellhounds Dream to show up, along with Blood and Whispers and Hell Spawn.
Hey, I told you I was planning on doing a lot of reading!
Other
Grad party for the youngest? Done. Hapkido demonstration for Women’s Veterans Day? Done. Helped a young friend propose to his girlfriend? Done! (That last one was fun!) Now we enter into the summer months, when my girls go off in their own directions while my wife and I try to keep track of everything happening all at once.
