My mid-week report to you that covers the three major commitments I’ve made: to write, to edit, and to read.

Writing
Very happy to announce that “Pard” was accepted for the second Space Cowboys anthology from Raconteur Press!
No progress on “Third Time Charm”. Novel-wise, I wrote several transitional scenes for Sigils, including a couple that help answer “Why would he do that?” kind of questions.
My commitments for this week:
Keep on plugging on “Third Time Charm”
Continue to fill in the holes in Sigils
Editing
Really just plugging along here. I’ve done an initial pass on 2/3 of the story, which puts me well ahead of schedule. Things will probably slow for a bit as I’ve got some difficult sections that will require a heavier hand to make them fit properly, given other changes I’ve made. My stats as of last night:
108 scenes
40 scenes that are now tagged as needing work (major or minor)
12 scenes that still need to be written
One “scene” at the end of the novel for which my notes simply say “Awesome stuff happens”
Getting that last one down will be fun :)

Draft some early beta readers.
Reading
Still plugging away at Broken Roads: Returning to my Amish Father. Not Ira’s fault - he tells a great story - but my own. I really shouldn’t lie down in bed, open a book, and expect to read more than a page without falling asleep.
I am waiting on a story from one of my writer’s group members, and once that hits, I’ll be doing a review. Until then, I’ll keep editing my own stuff.

Other
The Day Job - which had settled a bit - got shaken up a bit again in the past couple of days. Not bad stuff, but some organizational changes mean I may not be working on what I was working on. I think? Maybe. Or maybe not. Who knows? I will, tomorrow. Until then, it’s a little bit of added stress.
