I’m taking the time here to plug someone else’s project.
I’ve both been rejected by, and accepted by, Zombies Needs Brains in their various incarnations. I'm going to be appearing in the ZNB Presents: Year Two anthology soon with my story "Harrold of the Gods".
ZNB funds a lot of their activities via Kickstarter, and right now, they could use your support:
Zombies Need Brains has launched a new Kickstarter for the compilation anthology of YEAR THREE of our online magazine called ZNB PRESENTS and so far we're WAY behind on reaching our goal! We haven't even hit 40% yet, with only 5 days left to go…
In this Kickstarter you can preorder the ebook and/or trade paperback, plus get a ton of other potential rewards as well! We're only at $5,658 at the moment. In order to keep the magazine going, we need to hit $15K, though, otherwise the magazine will fold at the end of Year Two (June 2024).
What do you get if you support this project? For less than $20 you can get electronic copies of ZNB Presents for years One, Two, and Three. Plus, as usual, there’s any number of other goodies, including other books from ZNB. Oh, and Joshua Palmatier is sweetening the pot now as well - he has set up the Kickstarter so that people can both preorder his new epic fantasy trilogy through and support ZNB Presents: Year Three at the same time!
ZNB are good folks. They've delivered quality stories the past couple of years, paying pro rates. I’ve met several of their anthology editors at one time or another, and they’ve all been wonderful people. Joshua is a guest speaker at the FREE Pocono Liars’ Club writing conference.
These are folks who do their best to support new authors like me. They give us a real chance to make our first pro sales. It would be a shame to see them fold the project for lack of funding, especially when they offer so much for so little. Hop on over and support the Kickstarter if you can!
