Cedar Sanderson is doing N'inktober, so I'm going to follow along and do what I've been trained to do by the Raconteur Press Postcard books: come up with a story to match her visual prompts. I can't guarantee that I'll have a complete story for every image, but I'm going to at least try to come up with a scene, a start, or an idea!
Moose Beret
Angus settled back on his haunches. "You're dealing with this well." He titled his head. "The talking wolf thing, I mean."
The young NPS agent shrugged. "There was a mixup in my paperwork when I was interning. I spent a summer out west helping Albanian Chenoo refugees fill out immigration forms. Got to meet a bunch of interesting people that summer."
"Trial by fire. Gotcha.” His name tag read SMITH, but the scent on the jacket was different. Angus wondered if he had honestly grabbed the wrong coat, or if he wanted to hide his name for some reason. “So what are we dealing with here?"
"The lead agent will be here in minute. He'll brief you then."
"Come on." Angus did his best to give him puppy dog eyes. It had been years since he was an actual pup, but he could still manage it. "Help me out here."
The agent raised his eyebrows. "Throw you a bone?"
Angus couldn't help it. His tail thumped once, twice. "Heh. I like you, kid. Yeah. What's really up?"
'Smith' looked around, then leaned in and spoke in hushed tones. "Moose. Plural. Separatists out of Quebec."
Angus rolled his eyes as he laid down flat on the floor, the concrete cool even through his winter fur. "Oh, geez. Those idiots? What are they going to do, make fun of American french fries again?"
"No. They're going to try and wake up the Old One in Isle Royale."
Angus' tail stopped and curled under involuntarily as the fur on the scruff of his neck reached for the hangar ceiling.

I love this. You’re good! Also, is this related to the ammonite…? Maybe?
